Bronze Medal – Single Origin Espresso – 2018 Golden Bean Coffee Roasters Competition
Guji, as a coffee region, is significantly different than its neighbouring regions, Sidamo and Yirgacheffe. Guji zone was considered as a sub-region of Sidamo, however in 2002 it became a zone in its own right. It has gained a strong reputation because of the high quality and unique flavor profiles of the coffee.
Guji is one of the zones of the Oromia Region. The Oromo people consider the region as the ancestral cradle of the Oromo culture. Many of the ancient ceremonies and rituals of the Oromo people are still widely practised. Coffee production and farming has roots which are deeply embedded within their culture.
